CAIP Canada Launches Two New Pathways to Earn CAIP

Analytics and Insights Professionals Encouraged to Apply for the CAIP Today and Join the Hundreds of CAIPs that Represent Quality and Ethics in Research.

The Certified Analytics and Insights Professionals of Canada (CAIP) is pleased to announce the launch of two new pathways to earn the Certified Analytics and Insights Professional (CAIP) designation. The CAIP is a world-class designation for professionals guided by the strong ethics that organizations need to succeed in the world of data. The CAIP is endorsed by both the Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC) and ESOMAR and both new pathways are based on the CAIP Competency Framework that was released last summer.

“Earning the CAIP demonstrates a commitment to the highest standards and to the skills and knowledge demanded by employers,” says Gary Bennewies, CAIP, CEO of Ipsos Canada and Chair of the Canadian Research Insights Council (CRIC). “CAIP should be on the career path of every serious professional in the industry. The CAIP is the qualification demanded by major companies in the research, analytics, and insights industry – and the only designation that is endorsed by CRIC and ESOMAR.”

“We are pleased to launch these new pathways to earn the CAIP,” says the Chair of CAIP Canada Robert Wong, CAIP, FCRIC. “CAIP stands out as the designation that employers and clients seek when they want to retain the best in the field – it sets the highest bar, both from a quality and ethics standpoint. We encourage all practitioners in research, analytics, and insights to join the hundreds of professionals that are already CAIP Canada members.”

With the two new pathways, there are now three ways to earn the CAIP designation:

  1. The exam pathway
  2. The experienced practitioner pathway
  3. The pathway for professionals who held the designation of the former market research association

1. Exam Pathway

The primary pathway to earn the CAIP is by passing the CAIP Exam that will be offered on April 12 and October 4, 2021 at testing centres across Canada and through virtual proctoring. Candidates who register for the CAIP Exam will also be given access to the online CAIP Exam Prep Seminar offered by CAIP Chair Robert Wong. The seminar will provide samples of the types of questions and topics that will be covered on the CAIP Exam and will review exam writing strategies to help candidates be successful. Candidates are encouraged to register now to write the CAIP Exam and to get access to the CAIP Exam Prep Seminar.

2. Experienced Practitioner Pathway (available for a limited time)

For a limited time, market research, analytics, and insights professionals —with a minimum of 15 years of professional experience and who have the competencies identified in the CAIP Competency Framework — are eligible to apply for the CAIP through the experienced practitioner pathway. Those applying will be required to provide two references and a résumé demonstrating they have the required experience and competencies. Industry leaders are encouraged to apply for the CAIP as an Experienced Practitioner to demonstrate their support for the CAIP designation.

3. Pathway for Professionals Who Held the designation of the former Canadian market research association

CAIP Canada continues to make the CAIP available to professionals who earned the designation of the former market research association prior to July 2018. Professionals who earned the designation and who have not yet joined are encouraged to register today to join the over 200 CAIPs who are now members of CAIP Canada.
